Emulator Error

 Hi,

While downloading code to target board r5f104ffa I am getting following error.

Download failed.

[Direct Error Cause]
Can not communicate with Emulator. Please terminate the debugger and check the power of Emulator or the connection of cable then restart the debugger.(E1200265)

But the same emulator works fine with r5f104pja demo board.

I am using cubesuite+ IDE and E1 Emulator.

I am not getting that is this issue is with board /cubesuite+ /Emulator.

Please help me with solving this issue.

  • What is R5F104FFA target board? I don't know any board for R5F104FF
    What is R5F104PJ demo board?

    I tried on starter kit RSKRL78G14 using R5F104PJ. Uses E1 or E2Lite debugger.IT works fine.
    Now in my board I have R5F104FFA IC.

    Do you have a 1K ohm resistor between board VDD and MCU Tool0 Pin?
    Do you have a 10K ohm resistor between board VDD and MCU RESET Pin?

    If you are still having problems, please post your E1-to-MCU board wiring diagram, so we can check it.

    Hi,

                 This is schematic which I am having now.

    1. PIN2(TOOL0) of MCU is connected to PIN1 of PGM and PIN1 of PGM is also connected to PIN5 of E1 emulator which is not shown in this schematic.

    2. PIN3(RESET) of MCU is connected to PIN2 of PGM and PIN2 of PGM is also connected to PIN10  and PIN13 of E1 emulator which is not shown in this schematic.

    3. PIN3 of PGM is connected to the PIN8(VDD) of E1 Emulator.

    From your explanation you do not have a RESET input signal connected to pin 6 of E1.

    Target GND has to be connected to pins 2, 12 and 14 of E1.

    You don't connect EVDD (pin 9).

    As you informed, the RESET input signal is not connected to pin 6 of E1 in my board.

    GND pin is only connected to 2 pin of E1.

    Please telll me that, is it required to short both the pins 12 and 14 Of E1 to 2 pin?

    Honestly, do you think the manual says to connect GND to all pins 2, 12 and 14 just for the fun of it?
    Yes, it is necessary to connect GND to all pins. The emulator may not work correctly if not all GND are connected.
