I need to develop a tool for programming V850E2 processors, but can't find a flash programming manual. Can you help me please.
I don't believe the protocol for the serial programming interface is published by Renesas, that information is considered proprietary and is only made available to tool partners.
Or are you looking for the self-programming libs to create your own custom boot-loader?
I'm developing a programming tool which supports the V850ES processors (now), the protocol is described in app note R01AN0930EJ0200, and I'd like to add support for the V850E2 processors. It's odd that the app note for the ES version is publicly available, but I can't find anything for the E2.
Probably the best you could do is reverse engr the protocol if you have hardware and a NEC/Renesas programmer (RFP, PG-FP5/6). I don't know why Renesas doesn't release this information, I would guess to limit security related issues but if the customers properly lock-down their devices this should not be an issue.
Thanks, that what I am doing.
If you keep notes/code on that, I'm definitely interested on either testing and/or helping out. I have a JX3-L USB dongle which seems to program the V850 via a RL78, see https://renesasrulz.com/app_kits_and_demo_boards/v850esjx3-l_low_power_demo_kit/f/v850es-jx3-l-low-power-demo-kit---forum/18224/software-dvd-resources-for-this-usb-dongle/60184#60184 and github.com/.../.
The older V850ES (previous generation to V850E2) flash programming specifications are published. For Jx3-L:
